More about Valentines Day
Secret Valentine
Ideal for when you are working in an office environment to enable you and your colleagues to have a little fun.
Start about two weeks earlier, and come up with a box, for everyone to drop their special wish into (the piece of paper must include wish and recipient's name).
You may want to come up with some guidelines such as budget preference or even a list of items that people can actually wish from. These can range from gift vouchers or small, symbolic gift packs from local stores priced so as to be affordable and each of those participating to be able to afford to buy them.
Try to talk the stores into giving them away (as an argument, tell them that a five dollar coupon will be enough to bring the recipient into the store to spend it for the co-worker's present, but that it will rarely be all they will spend there).
Organize a draw for everyone to pick out the names from the box and, come Valentine's Day, single or not, everyone will find it easy to get into the mood, knowing that they have their special Valentine's gift coming to them.
If you have a big family or a large circle of mutual friends, then this would be an ideal tactic to rid all of the singles amongst them of the blues on the Valentine's Day.
The one thing you would have to be cautious about when doing this is the budgetary restriction. Settle for a figure that you know all parties would be comfortable with and can afford.
Also you would need to bear in mind that, just like at the office, not everyone will be willing to spend too big a sum on people that they are not particularly close to.
Love is in the air, just like spring, and it will come to each of us at the right time.
