The Right Digital Camera For Your Photography Needs
November 2007
Compared with the traditional way of taking pictures, you may decide to look at choosing a digital camera as an investment. The money and the time that you can save from owning a digital camera is well worth it. You are able to take a lot of pictures and you never have to worry about buying film and paying to have them developed ever again -- how awesome is that? But with all the digital cameras out there, I know how hard it can be to find just the perfect one for yourself.
Once you have found the one that appeals to you and meets your needs, remember that the most important thing in choosing your digital camera is finding the one with the right resolution. The higher the resolution, the better, clearer, more colourful the picture, but the caveat is that at the same time you get the bigger e-file for each of your pictures. This means you will run out of storing memory much faster. So you see -- that is a must in owning the right digital camera.
Buying the best fit for your needs may cost quite a bit more than what you thought initially to spend, but what you get out of it will be well worth the expense. I mean, come on, who wants to look at blurry pictures, and at the same time, you may or may not want to sell your pictures for a professional job (and then, the best picture wins!). So keep this in mind when you're out shopping for your new digital camera. You want to make sure you get the best quality for your money.
Again, for your first digital camera I would say to just choose an inexpensive one that won't break the pocketbook. As you learn more about your digital camera and all of its functions then you may feel confident enough to upgrade to one that has more to offer for a more experienced user.
As you become more experienced you will learn how to take great photos. Taking a great photo may just be as easy at it may seem, but for a professional one first you have to get the basics down on lighting, movements, angles and exactly when to click that button!
The best way to perfect your knowledge of your new digital camera's functions is practice. Take it everywhere with you. While you're taking a road trip (and someone else is driving) open your eyes to all the beauty around you and click away. You'll be amazed at the beauty you can grab in just one picture. Take your camera to family events, birthday parties, reunions, just wherever you go -- take your new-found friend (or toy?) with you. You'll be so glad you decided to purchase a digital camera. As the picture is taken you can view it and show it off on the spot.
So keep in mind when you purchase your digital camera that no matter the cost, you won't regret it. No more wasted money on moved, imperfect pictures you just throw away in the garbage. With digital cameras you can get rid of the pictures that you don't like. You can save the ones you like to a CD and keep them from being harmed in any way. You will be able to edit the photos, touch any of them up that may need it or alter them in any form you see fit for your collections.
In closing, I want to wish you good luck on your journey into a new photographers dream with your new camera for whatever pictures your heart may desire, and do not forget -- just like the traditional photographer who had to bring along a reserve of films, so do you need a reserve of memory and juice (battery).
