Stay Cool With Extra Air Conditioning

Summer comes once each year bringing with it intense sunrays and high temperatures. You may cope with high temperatures using a fan, or better yet, you can use your air conditioning unit. In today's society people are using lots more air conditioning systems in their homes and their offices to make the environment comfortable than in the past years. With temperatures in some areas spiking over 100F, this is inevitable. We have to stay cool somehow. Especially, young children and the elderly. Unfortunately, individuals aren't observing the importance of setting the air conditioner at a proper temperature. If the setting is too low, it might cause problems for you, health wise, causing you to go from too cold to extremely hot in too short of a time period by simply going outdoors.

On an average summer day, outdoor temperatures can reach over 30C individuals are making the error of setting their air conditioner at 20C or lower. If you plan to remain indoors all of the time, then it will not be much of a problem. However, when you do plan to go out, your body may feel an intense temperature change because of the differences between the indoor and outdoor temperatures. This sudden change in body temperature might cause your body to go into shock, as your body cannot adapt to a significantly different environment in such a short amount of time. The quick change in body temperature causes a chill. Doing so frequently might cause you to catch a bad cold.

Normally, the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures should be kept at a minimal to insure that your body stays at a set temperature range. Keeping the temperature in the rooms at a consistent level is as well advisable. It not only helps maintain your body in a healthy state, it will also help save on electricity.

Although, it is gratifying to be in an air conditioned room during hot summer days, be aware that your body can become dehydrated from the effects of your air-conditioner. Good advice is to drink a lot of water.

Placing a dish with water in your room helps as well. Doing so will help reduce what feels like dryness in the air and make the room feel more enjoyable to be in. You can also accomplish this by placing a humidifier that blows cool air in the room to keep moisture in the air. Again, the air conditioner's settings are of paramount importance -- less degrees to lower the room temperature, less water is extracted from the surrounding air.
